Hawaiian Pasta Salad with Pineapple Dressing
Hawaiian Pasta Salad is one of the most delicious and my favorite cold pasta salad recipes! Pasta combined with ham and sweet pineapple and tossed with this delicious homemade pineapple dressing it is the perfect combination.
8 ounce of Rotini or Bowtie Pasta
1 (14 ounce) can of pineapple tidbits, drain thoroughly and reserve the juice
1 Red Pepper, diced
2 cups Diced Ham
1 Green Onion, thinly sliced I include tops
½ cup mayonnaise (I only use Hellmann’s or Dukes -- not salad dressing)
¼ cup sour cream
1 tbsp. Dijon mustard
1/3 cup of the reserved pineapple juice
1 tsp. of honey
¼ tsp. garlic powder
Black Pepper to taste
Cook the pasta according to package directions. I cook approximately 10 minutes. Do not overcook. Rinse under cold running water and drain completely. Whisk together the Pineapple Dressing ingredients. Pour over noodles, ham, peppers and onions. Gently toss until completely coated. Refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving. This will keep refrigerated for 5 days.
