CHOCOLATE CAKE

#DESSERT
Molten Chocolate Cake
Cake Batter
1 ¾ cup sugar
3 ½ sticks unsalted butter, softened
6 large eggs
2 cups confectioners sugar
2 ¼ cups AP flour
¾ cup Dutch process cocoa powder
2 cups chopped walnuts(optional)
Chocolate Glaze
¾ cups confectioners sugar
¼ cup Dutch process cocoa powder
6 to 8 tsp milk
10 inch Tube pan, buttered
Preheat oven to 350 degrees with rack in middle of oven
Beat sugar and butter together(Not the confectioners sugar) until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, thoroughly mixing after each egg
Gradually beat in confectioners sugar
Stir in remaining ingredients until well blended.
Put batter in tube pan and smooth out top.
Bake 45-50 minutes until top is set and edges start to pull from sides of pan. Cake has a soft center so the toothpick technique will not work.
Cool cake in pan for 1 ½ hours then invert onto serving plate for 2 more hours.
Make Glaze:
Add dry ingredients to in pan over very low heat adding just enough milk to make a driziling consistency.
Drizzle glaze over top of cake.
I make extra glaze 1.5 times recipe and use some on serving plate. Garnish with Fresh berries or make whipped cream.
Center of cake will ooze so press plastic wrap against cut side to prevent from oozing too much.
